Xuming Tang has joined the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Xuming earned his Ph.D. from the School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. Xuming’s doctoral studies were supervised by Dr. Jian-dong Huang and Dr. Xin-yuan Guan, where he focused on the identification and characterization of genetic alterations in the pathogenesis of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Xuming also spent three years in the lab of Prof. Hongkui Deng at Peking University. There he established a highly efficient step-wise differentiation system that can generate definitive hematopoietic progenitor cells from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs). In the Morris Lab, Xuming will focus on enhancing the efficiency and fidelity of direct lineage reprogramming protocols.
